The Trax Credit Union Academic Scholarship program aims to recognize and support outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement among high school and college students. This scholarship is designed to empower individuals to pursue higher education, achieve their academic and career goals, and make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.
Trax will award (6) outstanding students with a $1000 scholarship. This financial assistance aims to alleviate the financial burden of education and enable the recipient to pursue their academic and career aspirations with confidence and determination. Scholarship submissions run 6/1/2024-7/31/2024.
Eligibility

Must have a cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 on a four-point non-weighted scale.

Must be a Trax Credit Union Member for at least 90 days and be in good standing.

Must be accepted or enrolled into a two- or four-year public or private accredited college or university, preferably within Florida.
Evaluation Requirements
- Two letters of recommendation from the following: high school principal, teacher, guidance counselor, religious/civil leader, or current/former employer on professional letterhead.
- A list of leadership roles, honors/awards, extracurricular activities, and community engagement.
- An essay submission answering the following question: “Imagine you have been given the opportunity to design a financial literacy program for high school students in your community. Outline the key components of your program and explain how you envision it benefiting students and preparing them for financial independence. Explain how students would benefit from joining Trax to achieve their financial goals."
- Upon request: Transcript reflecting current GPA.
Applicant must be a primary member in good standing with Trax Federal Credit Union (Trax Credit Union). Applicants (children and dependents) of Trax Credit Union employees, directors or committee members are not eligible. The applicant must attend an accredited non-profit college or university. Applicant must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative un-weighted grade point average. Prior Trax scholarship recipients are not eligible. Official or unofficial transcript may be required. Applicant must take at least nine (9) credit hours per semester for the current academic year. All applications become property of Trax Credit Union and will not be returned; information therein may be used in marketing and other public, social, or printed materials. All decisions concerning the award will be the responsibility of the Scholarship Committee, and all decisions of the Scholarship Committee are final. Recipient may be required to provide proof of enrollment at the school named on the application. This is a non-recurring award.
